Pipe cutters have four movable parts, cutter wheel, two guide wheels and an adjusting screw. First insert the pipe between the two cutters and the guide wheels. Next adjust the screw until the cutter bites the pipe. Lastly twist the cutter around the pipe tightening and adjusting the screw slightly with each turn until the pipe is cut through. One type of cutter is the soil pipe cutter, it’s a chain type cutters and has a mechanism to draw the cutter tight, it is use to cut large iron cast pipes. Another one is internal pipe cutter, it is use to cut pipes below the surface of a concrete floor. We have also manual cutting pipes one example is the hack saw that has a metal replaceable saw which is used to cut metal pipes and plastic pipes manually. Lastly we have jab saw that has an inserted hack saw blade on the handle which is use to cut pipes into tight spaces that hack saw can’t cut anymore. 

Plumbing Tape – plumbing tape is common used to seal pipe threads. Tapes are sold cut to specific widths and wound on a spool, making it easy to wind around pipe threads. Connections on a threaded pipe are prone to leaks, if they’re not sealed with a plumbing tape. You have to wrap the tape around the threads at least 4 to 7 times to make it water tight. 

Plumbing Measuring Tape – most plumbers would carry a steel measuring tape because they are convenient to carry and has retractable blades. The size varies from 1cm – 2.5cm wide and 2m – 8m long. There are longer tapes available up to 100m long, this tapes are made of steel or fiber glass blade and has a winding mechanism for retracting.
